City of Mauston looking for Someone to Fill 2nd Aldermanic Position
With the election of Darryl Teske as Mayor of Mauston, the 2nd Aldermanic District position on the Common Council is currently vacant. The City of Mauston is actively recruiting for a resident of the 2nd District to serve as the voice of their friends and neighbors.
“We are looking for a dedicated individual who is willing to serve, has a passion for local initiatives, and will bring ideas and solutions to the table,” Teske said.
The position would be appointed by the Council, and complete the term ending in April of 2026. Responsibilities include, attending evening meetings on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, serving on committees, budgeting, and strategic planning for the City of Mauston.

Mauston Hammers Westfield before Storms Hammer Woodside with Rain
The Mauston Golden Eagles snuck in a 10-0 victory over Westfield before heavy rains poured over Woodside Sports complex. It was a big game for Senior Brady Baldwin who went 4×4 with 2 triples and a double for the Golden Eagles. Andrey Tougas went 2×4 and stole 6 bags for Mauston in route to the victory. Isaac Steinke was stellar on the mound pitching 5 shutout innings giving up nothing on 3 hits 3 walks and 10 strikeouts. Mauston improves to 6-1 in the conference and 13-3 overall. Mauston will travel to Wautoma on Thursday a game you can listen to on SmashCountry92.9FM and WRJC.com

Bangor Downs Royall To Take Control in SBC Baseball Race
The Bangor Cardinals baseball team now controls its own destiny to an outright Scenic Bluffs Conference Championship after dispatching Royall 6-1 Monday night. Chase Horstman got the win on the mound giving up just 1 run on 4 hits in a complete game effort while striking out 10 batters and walking none. Horstman also went 2×4 with 2 RBIs at the plate. Tucker Wildes went 2×3 for the Panthers while Jett Bender went 1×2 with the lone run scored for the Panthers. Bangor improves to 9-0 in the conference while Royall drops to 9-2 in the bluffs.
Necedah Man Charged with Arson and Resisting an Officer
A 38 year old Necedah man was arrested Sunday May 5th for the following charges. Chad Norton faces charges of ARSON OF A PROPERTY OTHER THEN A BUILDING, RESISTING OR OBSTRUCTING AN OFFICER and a PROBATION HOLD. No further information has been giving to us at this time.
Sun Leads to Crash with Mailbox
On May 3rd, Tana Olson, Cashton, was traveling northbound on County Road S in the town of Webster. Olson reported the sun was in her eyes causing her to leave the roadway and strike a mailbox and guardrail. Olson did not report any injuries. Her vehicle received functional damage. The property owners of the mailbox and guardrail were notified.
New Lisbon Boys Track & Field Takes 2nd at Riverdale
The New Lisbon Track and Field team competed Saturday at the Ginger Morrey Invitational at Riverdale High School.
The boys team finished in second place and the girls team finished 5th.
Finishing in the top 3 and earning medals for the boys were:
Jameson Barker with a second place finish in both the 110 and 300 meter hurldes.
Jude Keltner with a second place finish in triple jump.
And Blake Smith with a second place finish in discus.
The boys also had the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Jude Keltner, Jameson Barker, Jamesen Pfaff, and Carson Welter, and the 4 x 100 relay team of Jake Cox, Austin Suckow, Jude Keltner and Brandon Voss finish in second place.

The 4 x 800 team of Aidan Brown, Brayen Morey, Stephan Murray, and Josh Homan
Carson Welter in the 100 meter dash
Malakai Dunham in the 800 meter run
And the 4 x 400 relay team of Josh Homan, Jude Keltner, Brayen Morey, and Carter Pfaff
For the girls Alivia Bailey finished second in the 400 and Claire Haske also finished second in the 300 meter hurdles.

Eliza Curtis in the 100 meter hurdles
Sophia Wolf in the 3200 meter run
And the 4×200 meter relay team of Carly Martinez, Landry Flint, Chloe Pfaff, and Claire Haske, and the 4 x 400 meter relay team of Brooklyn Lowe, Claire Haske, Marlys Morey, and Alivia Bailey.
Our next official meet is the Conference Championship meet in Elroy on May 14th
