Cavanaugh, Kaitlyn J. Age 21 of Adams
Kaitlyn J. Cavanaugh, age 21, of Adams, Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 31, 2024.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at Roseberry’s Funeral Home in Friendship, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at Roseberry’s Funeral Home.
Carter, Christine Age 75 of Lyndon Station
A funeral service for Christine (Treganza) Carter, age 75 of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin, will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Conway-Picha Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest following the service at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lyndon Station.
Chris is survived by her husband Donald, daughter Jody (Derrick) Gwin, and granddaughters Alexis (Jacob) Wofford, and Anestasia Gwin. Also, her brother Jeff Treganza (Christopher Coon) and sister, Lisa Ruskosky (Jason Ruskosky and Chelsea Burns).

Necedah/Dells Kids To Take Rockonsin State Finals Stage at Summerfest
The 2024 ROCKONSIN State Finals will be conducted on June 28 & June 29 at Summerfest from 12:15pm – 2:45pm each day on the Aurora Pavilion Stage.
Ten statewide garage bands representing Wisconsin high schools and middle schools from Chippewa Falls to Racine and Kewaskum to Madison and in between have been selected, by three music industry judges with 30+ years of experience each, to perform 20 minute showcases at the ROCKONSIN State Finals.

The 2024 winning & runner-up bands will be announced on Saturday June 29 at 8:00pm on Facebook, Instagram & TikTok @rockonsin and on the website www.rockonsin.org.
Each of the 10 bands will perform 20 minute showcases on the Aurora Pavilion Stage and will be evaluated by a different set of three music industry judges, for the State Finals, on expression/creativity/technique, rhythm/vocals, primary beats/blend/time, synergy and a summary of each musician knowing their role and how the band jells as one musical unit. Each band, after their Summerfest performance, will receive a private verbal critique from one of the judges.

Join us in cheering on the cool new wave of young hot Badger State bands that will hit the Aurora Pavilion Stage on June 28 & June 29 – next up The World’s Largest Music Festival!” said ROCKONSIN Founder & Producer Dennis Graham.
The 2024 ROCKONSIN winning and runner-up bands will each perform a second prize winning 45 minute showcase gig at The Big Gig on the Aurora Pavilion Stage on July 6th with the runner-up hitting the stage at 12:45pm followed by the winning band at 2:00pm.
The winner and runner-up each win a professional recording session at Madison’s Blast House Studios (Winner: 12 hours; Runner-up: 8 hours). Each of the 10 State Finalist bands receive two (2) Shure microphones (one vocal and one instrument with cords). The winning band will also receive a Shure wireless vocal microphone system.
In addition, one ROCKONSIN State Finalist band will perform a one hour showcase set on August 9th at the Waukesha Rotary BluesFest at Naga-Waukee Park in Delafield.
ROCKONSIN, which is brought to you by the Nicholas Family Foundation, is also made possible with the generous support of these statewide sponsors that have a passion for providing opportunities to recognize and showcase the talents of these young bands: MAMA (Madison Area Music Association),Tilt Media, Shure, and Summerfest. This program is produced by Dennis Graham Associates that founded, in 2005, this statewide competition for 7th – 12th grade Wisconsin students which is still the only alternative statewide music competition of its kind in the nation.

One person was seriously injured after a motorcycle vs. SUV crash on May 29, 2024
On Thursday, May 29, 2024, at around 4:15 PM, The Monroe County 911 Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a motorcycle vs SUV crash at the intersection of Ironwood Rd and County Highway A in the Tomah Township. Both vehicles sustained severe damage, which caused the eastbound lane of County Highway A to be closed for approximately forty-five minutes for emergency personnel to investigate and safely land Gundersen Air.
The initial investigation revealed that the SUV driver was stopped on Ironwood Road and proceeded into the intersection to cross County Highway A. The SUV driver looked but did not see the motorcycle traveling East on County Highway A. The motorcycle impacted the SUV on the passenger side, causing both vehicles to become disabled.
The driver of the SUV called 911 and rendered aid to the motorcycle operator. The motorcycle operator sustained severe injuries in the crash and was airlifted from the scene by Gundersen Air to a local La Crosse, WI, hospital.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.

Jackson, David Allan Age 64 of Wisconsin Dells formerly of Elroy
David Allan Jackson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 30, 2024, in Wisconsin Dells, at the age of 64. Born on June 16, 1959, to the parents of Douglas and Margaret (Degroot) Jackson in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.
David graduated from Elroy High School in 1977. His passion for craftsmanship led him to further his education at a technical school in La Crosse, Wisconsin. His professional life was marked by dedication and craftsmanship, as he excelled in fabrication and welding, with 26 commendable years at Walkers, where he was not only a respected employee but also a friend to many. David married the love of his life Debra Kay (Slater) Jackson on October 20, 1984, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Camp Douglas Wisconsin.
He was a devoted husband to his wife, Debra Jackson, and a loving father to his children, Nichole Jackson of Tomah, Josh Jackson of New Lisbon, and Ben (Danielle) Jackson of Mauston, and his sister, Dolly (Tom Meoska) Jackson of Wonewoc. David’s legacy continues through his grandchildren, Mikayla, Austin, Cole, Skyla, Kayden, Cameren, Kerenden, Ava, Alayna, and his great-grandchild, Delilah. David is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Raymon, Judy, Mike, Doug Jr. and Donnie.
David’s interests included hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. He found joy and tranquility in nature, often sharing this passion with his family and friends. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his enthusiasm for scooters, which provided him with a sense of freedom and adventure. David’s presence was a gift to all who knew him. His kind spirit, thoughtful gestures, and loving demeanor touched the lives of many.
As we bid farewell to David, we reflect on a life well-lived, a life filled with purpose and warmth. He was a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to guide us. David’s journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his story will be told for generations to come, through the lives of his family and the countless memories they hold dear.

Mislevecheck, Jean L. Age 70 of Elroy
Jean L. Mislevecheck, age 70 years, of Elroy, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Solace Home in Madison, Wisconsin.
She was born on June 14, 1953, the daughter of Robert and Alice (Braund) Williams in Richland County, Wisconsin. She attended school in Richland Center and Hillsboro.
Jean was united in marriage to Donald Mislevecheck on January 21, 1995 at Hillsboro.
She enjoyed her flowers and gardening; sewing, knitting and crocheting; crafting including painting and drawing and was a very good cook. She was a very thoughtful person and spent time thrifting.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; children, Eric (Patricia) Ryman, Lisa (Allen) Verbsky and Amy (Rick) Sebranek; seven Grandchildren; sisters, Judy Rabine and Joyce (Roger) Paulson and brother, Dennis (Terri) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and step father, Donald Degner.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Picha Funeral Home in Elroy. A time of visitation will be on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Millards Prairie Cemetery near Elroy.

Hillsboro Softball Falls in Sectional Final
The Hillsboro Tigers Softball Team came up short in their bid for a state tournament appearance falling to Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 10-0 Thursday evening. Assumption pitcher Macy Vollert held the Tigers scoreless through 5 innings scattering 5 hits walking none and striking out 11. Vollert also went 2×4 with a homerun at the plate. Arrianna Cavanaugh hit a 3 run homerun to bust the game open in the 4th. Harper Sullivan and Maddie Herritz each went 1×2 for Hillsboro. It was the deepest run Hillsboro Softball has ever made in the post season. Hillsboro finishes their season with a 19-4 record. It was a great career for the two senior Peyton Sullivan and Jaelyn Bloor.
