Hot Start Lifts Bangor Boys by New Lisbon

The Bangor Cardinals got off to a fast start and never looked back in an 81-53 victory over New Lisbon Tuesday night in Scenic Bluffs Boys Basketball action.  Bangor had early leads of 10-0 and 20-2, the Rockets got back within 13 but that was the closest they would get.  Brock Bores had a career high 22points for Bangor while Eli Tucker added 16points.  Austin Berndsen led New Lisbon with 18points while Carter Pfaff added 11.  New Lisbon drops to 4-7 in the conference and 6-12 overall.  Bangor improves to 8-3 in the conference and 8-11 overall.

Royall Derails La Farge in Girls Basketball

The Royall Panthers girls basketball team used suffocating defense and a team effort on offense to blowout La Farge 59-27 Monday night.  3 players scored in double figures for the Panthers led by Bria Gruens 20points, Elizabeth Klipstein added 11 and Layla Mart notched 10points.  7/8 players scored for the Panthers who had minutes in the game.  La Farge struggled to break Royall’s backcourt pressure and trailed Royall 32-10 at halftime.  Royall improves to 7-14 on their season while La Farge drops to 0-19. 

Second Half Surge Lifts Hillsboro by Bangor in SBC Boys Basketball

The Hillsboro Tigers boys basketball used a strong 2nd half to pull away from Bangor 75-60 Thursday night in a Scenic Bluffs Boys Basketball matchup. Hillsboro went on a 16-3 run early in the 2nd half to turn a 35-32 deficit into a 48-38 lead and never looked back.  Hillsboro used a strong game from David Johnson who had a career high 16points.  Jerry Von Falkenstein and Miles Ravenscroft each had 18points to lead the Tigers in scoring.  Hayden Massman had a game high 21points for the Cardinals.  With the win Hillsboro improves to 14-3 and 9-1 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference. Bangor drops to 7-3 and 7-11 overall. 

NL Rockets Win 4th in a Row in Girls Basketball

The New Lisbon Rockets girls basketball team slugged out a 43-31 victory over Wonewoc-Center Tuesday night in a Scenic Bluffs Conference girls basketball game.  Freshman Keira Wilkinson got New Lisbon off to a quick start and led them in scoring with a dozen points.  Senior Abby Steele also had 12 for New Lisbon and went on a personal 6-0 run after Wonewoc-Center had cut a 14 point lead down to 7.  The Wolves struggled offensively but were led by Senior Brooklyn Boltons 10points.  New Lisbon improves to 9-9 overall and 6-4 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference, it was the 4th straight win for New Lisbon.  Wonewoc-Center drops to 2-13 and 1-9 in the conference.

Royall Downs Mauston in County Rivalry

The Royall Panthers remained perfect on their season downing Mauston 64-41 Monday night in a non-conference boys basketball game.  Trey Wildes led the offensive charge with 17points, Carter Uppena added 14, while Ben Crneckiy added 12points.  Royall got off to a great start and led 37-14 at halftime.  Mauston played better in the 2nd half but couldn’t get any close then 16points.  Jase Navis led Mauston with 12points but was frustrated by the Royall double teaming defense.  Mauston drops to 3-14 on their season while Royall improves to 17-0. 

Mauston Gets Things Going in 2nd Half to Down Hillsboro in GBB

The Mauston Golden Eagles overcame a slow start to down Hillsboro 57-46 in Girls Basketball action Tuesday night.  Hillsboro got off to a fast start building a 17-7 lead behind hot shooting from Michelle Hora and Carmen Erickson but Mauston got back into the game with Catie Lavold attacking the basket.  Mauston pulled within 29-28 before Hora beat the buzzer on a three pointer to give Hillsboro a 32-28 halftime lead.  Mauston regrouped in the 2nd half getting every starter involved in the scoring.  Kylie Heller and Catie Lavold each had 16points to lead Mauston while Bre Heller chipped in with 12.  Carmen Erickson led the Tigers with 18points while Michelle Hora added 14.  Mauston improves to 13-3 while Hillsboro drops to 12-5. 

#2 Royall Blasts Fellow Panthers in Boys Basketball

The Royall Panthers Boys Basketball team cruised to another easy victory Friday night dispatching Pittsville 73-35. Royall pulled away midway thru the first half and led by 20 at halftime. Carter Uppena had a big game scoring 30points, Ben Crneckiy and Landon Lipke each added a dozen points for Royall who improves to 5-0 on its season. The Pittsville Panthers drop to 3-3 on their season.

Tigers Take Down Wonewoc-Center in SBC Girls Action

The Hillsboro Tigers used a strong outside shooting game to down Wonewoc-Center 57-31 in Scenic Bluffs Conference girls basketball action.  The Tigers knocked down 7 three point field goals in the game.  Michelle Hora had three of the triples to finish with 11points.  Carmen Erickson led the Tigers with 23points, while Aliana Clark added 11.  Wonewoc-Center was led by Kendyl Rowes 11points.  Hillsboro improves to 6-2 on their season and 2-1 in the bluffs; Wonewoc-Center drops to 1-6 and 0-3 in the conference. 

Wonewoc-Center Fights but Falls to Heights in Boys Basketball

The Wonewoc-Center Boys Basketball team could not hang on to a 33-29 halftime lead falling to Wisconsin Heights 73-55 Monday night.  Wonewoc-Center fought back from an early 10-2 deficit to take a halftime lead but Wisconsin Heights scored the first 17points of the 2nd half and never looked back in their victory.  Cam Thellefsen had a team high 22points for Wonewoc-Center while Jack Byrdy added 11points.  Wisconsin Heights Logan Duhr had a game high 27points for the Vanguards.  Wonewoc-Center will return to action Thursday hosting New Lisbon.

#2 Royall Eases by New Lisbon in SBC Boys Basketball

The Royall Panthers boys basketball team used another strong defensive effort to roll by New Lisbon Friday night 66-22.  It was a slow offensive start for Royall but they eventually got things going to pull away with the easy victory.  Royall was led by Landon Lipkes 18points.  Trey Wildes added 14points for Royall while Dylan Velazquez chipped in with 8points.  Royall improves to 4-0 on its season and 2-0 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference.  New Lisbon drops to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the conference.  Evan Macrafic led the Rockets with 7points.
