Royall Post Game Interviews (New Lisbon Doubleheader)

New Lisbon Competes at Bruce Brewer T&F Invite

The New Lisbon Track and Field team competed Tuesday night at the highly competitive Bruce Brewer Invitational.  The boys team finished 6th and the girls team came in 15th.  Placing in the top three and earning medals were:

 

 

 

Jameson Barker with a first place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.92 which is 2 hundreds of a second off a school record that has stood since 1985

 

Jake Cox finished second in long jump with a new personal record jump of 20 feet 5 inches

 

And Blake smith finished 3rd in shot put.

Hillsboro Softball Blasts Brookwood in SBC Action

The Hillsboro Tigers softball team used a high powered offense to push past Brookwood 13-5 Tuesday evening.  Hillsboro had 13 runs on 16hits in the victory.  Jaelyn Bloor led the way by going 4×5 with 3RBI’s at the plate she also picked up the victory inside the circle for the Tigers.  Peyton Sullivan went 3×5 with 3RBI’s and Kiana Liska 2×4 with 3RBIs.  Everyone in the Hillsboro lineup reached base safely in the victory.  Brookwood got homeruns by Emily Cunitz and Vanessa Anderson in the loss.  Hillsboro improves to 6-1 in the SBC and 10-2 overall.  Brookwood drops to 3-5 in the bluffs and 5-6 overall. 

Royall Blanks New Lisbon 2x in Baseball Doubleheader

The Royall Panthers completed a pair of 10-0 no hit victories over the New Lisbon Rockets Monday evening in a Scenic Bluffs Conference baseball doubleheader.  Gunnar Wopat pitched his 2nd no hitter of the season in game 1 giving up no hits in 5 innings while walking 3 and striking out 8.  Tyrus Wildes went 3×3 with 4RBI’s at the plate for the Panthers and Jett Bender went 1×3 with a pair of RBI’s.  Seth Brandau pitched a 5 inning no-hitter for the Panthers in game two.  Brandau gave up no hits walked only 1 and struck out 8 Rocket batters in the victory.  Seth also went 2×2 at the plate.  Mason Morrisette had a base knock for the Panthers and Jerry Dilley picked up and RBI.  The Panthers improved to 10-1 on their season and 8-1 in conference action.  New Lisbon drops to 4-4 in the conference and 4-6 overall. 

New Lisbon Track & Field has Success at Gerard Brunner Invite

The new Lisbon Track and Field teams competed Thursday night at the Gerard Brunner Invitational in Elroy alongside 12 other teams.  The boys team finished in second place and the girls team finished in 5th.

Finishing in the top 3 and earning medals for the boys were:

Jameson Barker with a first place finish in both the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles

Carson Welter with a first place in the 200 meter dash

Jake Cox with a first place finish in the long jump

Brandon Voss with a second place in the 200 meter dash

Malakai Dunham with a second place finish in the 800 meter run

Blake Smith with a second place finish in shot put

Tre Bailey with a 3rd place finish in discus

For the Girls

The 4 x 100 relay team of Carly Martinez, Landry Flint, Chloe Pfaff, and Brooklyn Lowe finished second

The 4 x 800 relay ream of Greenlee Heimer, Lily Bell, Sophia Wolf, and Klarissa Earhart finished second

And Brooklyn Lowe finished third in high jump

Next up for the Rockets is the Bruce Brewer Invitational in Bangor next Tuesday.

Schumer No-Hitter Leads Necedah Softball by New Lisbon

The Necedah Cardinal Softball team picked up their first win of the season thanks to a no hitter tossed by Addison Schumer.  Schumer pitched 5 no hit innings in a 10-0 victory.  Schumer gave up 3 walks while striking out 8.  Necedah took advantage of erratic New Lisbon pitching to score 10 runs on just 1 infield hit; Necedah however drew 11 walks and got hit by 6 pitches. Gianna Teumer had the lone hit in the game.  The win pushes Necedah to 1-5 and drops New Lisbon to 0-3.    

Competing against Opponents and Prom New Lisbon Track & Field Fairs Well in Cashton

The New Lisbon Track and Field competed at the Cashton Invitational Saturday.  We battled through cold and windy condition with a lineup that was hampered due to prom being that day.  Dispite being shorthanded and dealing with the weather we had a successful meet.

The boys team finished 3rd and the girls team finished 7th.

Finishing in the top 3 and earning medals were:

Blake Smith 1st place in shot put

Blake Smith 2nd place in discus

Jake Cox 2nd place in the 100 meter dash

Jameson Barker with a 2nd place finish in both the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles

The 4 x 100 Team of Jake Cox, Austin Suckow, Jude Keltner, Brandon Voss finishing 2nd

And Carson Welter with a 3rd place finish in the 100 Meter Dash.

 

Next up for the Rockets is a meet on Thursday at Royall High School.

Wopat No Hits Cashton in Royall Victory

The Royall Panthers routed Cashton 10-0 in six innings Thursday night in Scenic Bluffs Conference baseball action. Gunnar Wopat pitched a no hitter for the Panthers.  Wopat faced the minimum walking just one batter but picking him off at first base.  Wopat got plenty of offense behind him as every started in the Panther lineup had at least one hit.  Wopat had a pair of hits himself.  Cole Eberhardt also added 2 hits and 2RBIs.  The win improves Royall to 3-1 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference.  Cashton drops to 4-1 in Conference action.  Royall will host a triangular vs Melrose-Mindoro and Weston on Saturday.  Both Royall games can be heard on NOW92oneFM and WRJC.com. 

Royall Holds Off Brookwood in SBC Baseball

The Royall Panther Baseball team held off Brookwood 6-4 Monday night in Scenic Bluffs Conference action.  Royall jumped out in front in the 2nd inning getting an RBI single from Cole Eberhardt and a 2run double from Carter Uppena. Brookwood came back and tied the game in the top of the third inning thank to a two run single by Hunter Zimmerman.  Tyrus Wildes answered with an RBI single in the bottom of the third to put Royall on top for good at 4-3.  Tucker Wildes had an RBI single in the 4th and another run scored on an error giving Royall a 6-3 lead.  Gunnar Wopat came on in relief of Seth Brandau to shut the door on the Falcons and pick up the save.  Braundau picked up the win on the mound for Royall as they improve to 2-1 on the conference season.  Brookwood drops to 1-5 and 1-2 in the conference. 

New Lisbon’s Mill Haven T&F Invite Top Rocket Finishers

The New Lisbon Track and Field team competed Saturday alongside 13 other area teams on their home track for the Mill Haven Invite.  They boys team finished 2nd and the girls team finished 8th.  Placing in the top three for the girls were:

Alivia Bailey with a third place in the 400 meter dash

The 4 x 400 team of Eliza Curtis, Claire Haske, Heidi Mathes, and Alivia Bailey also finished in  3rd place

On the boy’s side:

Jameson Barker with a first in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles

Blake Smith with a second place in the discus and shot

The 4 x 200 team of Jake Cox, Braden Miller, Jameson Barker, and Brandon Voss with a third place finish

Next up for the Rockets is the Lee Griffin Invitational at Kickapoo High School Tuesday.
