New Lisbon Track Teams Finish 1st and 2nd at Nekoosa

The New Lisbon Track and Field Teams competed Tuesday night at the Nekoosa Invitational.  The girls’ team took second and the boys took home first.  Finishing in the top 3 and earning medals were:

Big Inning Propels Westfield Past Mauston in SCC Baseball

The Westfield Pioneers used a 6 run 5th inning to defeat Mauston 7-3 in South Central Conference baseball action on Tuesday.  Mauston took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 5th but the Pioneers dinked and dunked their way to 6 runs and held on for the 7-3 victory. Eli Rader and Tyler Link each had a pair of hits for Mauston in the loss.  Treyton Roos had the go ahead base hit for the Pioneers in the 5th inning.  Sam Buerrecos picked up the victory for the Pioneers on the mound while Beef Massey took the loss for Mauston.  Mauston will host Wautoma on Thursday.

Mauston Rallies By Adams-Friendship in Baseball Action

The Mauston Golden Eagles baseball team took down Adams-Friendship with a big 7th inning for a 7-4 victory.  Evan Freimuth’s RBI single gave Mauston a lead after the game was tied at 4 and connor Newlun added a big RBI single for a big insurance run.  Beef Massey drove in 3runs for the Golden Eagles in the victory. Tyler Link picked up the victory on the mound and Eli Rader locked up the save.  Mauston improves to 4-2 in the South Central Conference. 

Royall Blanks Bangor to Take Control of SBC Baseball Race

The Royall Panther baseball team took complete control of the Scenic Bluffs Conference championship race with an 8-0 victory over Bangor Thursday evening.  Strong Royall defense kept the game scoreless into the third inning. Cole Eberhardt caught Eli Tucker trying to steal third in the opening inning and Carter Uppena threw out a runner trying to score at home in the 2nd inning.  Uppena led off the third inning with a double and later came around to score on a wild pitch to give Royall the early lead.  Eberhardt would tack on an RBI single that same inning.  Royall pulled away in the 4th on a bases clearing double by Eberhardt to put Royall up 6-0, Brendan Rick would add a 2 run single in the 5th inning to create the final 8-0 margin of victory.  Seth Brandau had a complete game shutout for Royall scattering 5 hits walking a pair and striking out 7.  The win moves Royall to 11-0 in the Scenic Bluffs Conference and 15-4 overall.  Bangor drops to 5-2 and 10-4 overall.

Tanner Winker has officially tied the 100 meter dash school record. He joins Dan May, Dave Ritland, Ernie Kolumbus, Jeff Komay, Jesse Witcraft, and Garron Brandt at 11.1 over 100m. He also ran the fastest fully automatic time recorded in the FAT era for any athlete at Mauston over 100m in 11.13. He is .04 seconds away from outright owning this record and rewriting the sprint record books at MHS.

New Lisbon Relay Team Sets New School Record at Bangor Meet

The New Lisbon Track and Field Teams took a light line up into the Bruce Brewer Invitational on Tuesday night to complete against other area teams as one of the last meets to prepare for conference.  The Boys team finished 9th and the Girls finished 14th.  
 
Finishing in the top 3 and earning medals were:
 
Jamesen Pfaff in the long jump with a first-place finish
 
And 
 
The 4 x 100 relay team of Jamesen Pfaff, Brandon Voss, Jude Keltner, and Austin Berndsen finishing second and breaking their own school record time with a new school record time of 44.76.
 
Next up for the Rockets is a meet Thursday in Hillsboro to continue to work on fine tuning our line up for the Conference meet.
