Elroy Lions Club Spring Fling April 20 – 26

The Elroy Lions Club is having a Spring Fundraising Drive.  The Lions are looking for business that want to donate to this event.  They will give you some advertising in return. 

The Spring Fling will be held April 19th through the 26th 9AM – 9PM.

The money raised will be split between local, state, national and international Lion’s Club causes with 70% being used locally.  For more information, contact the Elroy Lion’s Club at 125 Thompson St., Elroy, WI.

ATV Safety Class April 27

The Juneau County Sherriff and Castle Rock Family ATV Club are offering an ATV Safety Class. Saturday April 27 from 9am to 12noon and May 2 from 6-9pm at the Mauston City Hall(students must attend both sessions) cost is $10.
Anyone born after January 1, 1988 must successfully passed the course to operate an ATV in Wisconsin. Must register at gowild.wi.gov safety education.

Career Fair April 29

Looking for a new career or a summer job? Come to the Royall High School gym from 3-5pm on Monday, April 24th to meet local employers at the Elroy Community Career Fair put on by Royall High School and the Elroy Chamber of Commerce. Rummage Sale May 9, 10 & 11

Garage Sale Season here in Wisconsin is about to kick off in a big way, just like it has for the past 20 years with the Mauston Methodist Church Spring Rummage Sale.  The event raises money to help support people here in Mauston and around the world.  Thousands of items have once again filled not a garage, but 2 floors of the church and much of the parking lot and yard.  Items come from not only church members, but also estates and local individuals looking to shed their excess.  Bath towels can be had for .50, while sheet sets are $1.00.  And for the low price of .25 you can get picture frames, shirts and shorts, books, pliers and screwdrivers, knickknacks, plastic watering cans, craft supplies and vases.   Need a Coleman camping stove?  It’s here for $3.00.  A Ski Doo winter coat?  We have it for $2.00.  You name it; it just might be here!  Come check it out at the Mauston Methodist Church on 420 Suszycki Drive.  Thursday, May 9th (4:00pm – 8:00pm); Friday, May 10th (8:00am – 6:00pm); and Saturday, May 11th (8:00am – 12:00pm) *$1 Bag Sale.

Mad City Badgers Wheelchair Basketball May 4

The Mad City Badgers, based out of Madison, WI are holding a fundraiser and demonstration with a little scrimmage with the wheelchair basketball team and some of the Hillsboro Highschool girls’ and boys’ basketball members. There will also be a raffle to help raise money for the basketball team. Wisconsin public schools do not provide athletic opportunities for students with physical disabilities. Therefore, it is the mission of our team to provide an experience as close as possible to what their able-bodied peers in school sponsored athletics. In order for our athletes to continue to have the opportunity to play competitive basketball, and to continue expanding our program to reach more families, we must reach our for support from our local communities.

Meet at the observation tower on the Barrens Nature Trail to learn about geocaching and work together to find geocaches along the Ranger Rick geocache trail.

Breakfast Buffet – Sundays

Breakfast Buffet every Sunday at Wonewoc American Legion beginning at 8AM and runs until 11AM. Storytime Friends December – Tuesdays

Storytime, songs, early literacy activities take place Tuesday Mornings at 10AM at Hatch Public Library in Mauston.  It is a great opportunity to connect with other families.

 

Narcan Training – Tuesdays and Thursdays

ADRC Transportation Program

The ADRC of Eagle Country Juneau County Office provides transportation assistance for a low cost to Juneau County Residents age 60 and over or individuals living with a disability.  Services include the ADRC handicap-accessible van and bus, Volunteer Escort Drivers, Find Your Own Driver Program, and the Taxi Subsidy Program.  This is for non-emergency trips to medical appointments, shopping, nutrition, education and employment, as well as social and recreation.  Hours of operation are 8AM-4:30PM.  Requests must be made 48 hours prior to the appointment.  Call 608-847-9371 to find out more.
