Mauston Hammers Westfield before Storms Hammer Woodside with Rain
The Mauston Golden Eagles snuck in a 10-0 victory over Westfield before heavy rains poured over Woodside Sports complex. It was a big game for Senior Brady Baldwin who went 4×4 with 2 triples and a double for the Golden Eagles. Andrey Tougas went 2×4 and stole 6 bags for Mauston in route to the victory. Isaac Steinke was stellar on the mound pitching 5 shutout innings giving up nothing on 3 hits 3 walks and 10 strikeouts. Mauston improves to 6-1 in the conference and 13-3 overall. Mauston Grinds Out 6-2 Victory over Wautoma in Baseball Action
The Mauston Golden Eagles baseball team stayed undefeated in South Central Conference play by defeating Wautoma 6-2 on Tuesday night. Brock Massey got the win on the mound grinding out 4 innings giving up just 2 runs on 5 hits, walking 3 and striking out 7. Charlie Scott pitched the final 3 innings giving up no runs to notch the save. Bradyin Gallagher went 1×3 with an RBI for Mauston offensively and had a big defensive play throwing out a runner at first base from right field. Mauston is now 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in conference action. Wautoma drops to 6-5 and 3-1 in conference.
A Massey(ve) Beefy Victory for Mauston Baseball over Westfield
It was a big day for the Massey brother and the Mauston Golden Eagles baseball team on Thursday earning a beefy 15-3 wins over Westfield in South Central Conference action. Brock Massey had a home run and 3 RBI’s in the win and also pitched 5 scoreless innings striking out 14 batters. Heath “Beef” Massey had a pair of hits and drove in 4 runners in the victory. Mauston improves to 4-1 on their season and 2-0 in conference action.
Massey’s Arm & Bat Lift Mauston by Nekoosa in SCC Baseball Action
The Mauston Golden Eagles baseball team used a strong pitching performance to get by Nekoosa 5-0 Thursday night. Brock Massey and Charlie Scott combined to 1 hit Nekoosa. Brock Massey went 6 innings giving up just 1 infield single and 1 walk while striking up 13 batters. Scott came in and pitched a scoreless 7th to wrap up the one hitter. Massey also had the biggest hit of the game going 1×2 with atriple and 2 RBIs. Alex Suhr went 2×3 at the plate with a pair of bunt singles. Braden Lochner had the lone hit for Nekoosa. Mauston improves to 2-0 on their season and 1-0 in South Central Conference action, Nekoosa drops to 0-2 on their season and 0-1 in conference play.
