MADISON, Wis. (AP) – A young blues guitar prodigy will speak in front of a state Senate committee Wednesday about a law prohibiting kids from performing in taverns and night clubs.
GOP Sen. Neal Kedzie of Elkhorn has introduced a bill on behalf of 10-year-old Tallan Latz.  Latz’s father, Carl, went to Kedzie after the state questioned the legality of Tallan’s performances at festivals and bars where
alcohol is served.
Kedzie wants to allow children to perform – with a parent present – in a dance hall, night club, tavern or similar place before 9 p.m. on school nights or before 10 p.m. other nights. And only for musical or theatrical performances.  The Senate’s Committee on Children and Families will then decide whether the full Senate should consider the proposal.
