Police Make Arrest in Eau Claire Boy’s Death
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) – Chippewa Falls police have made an arrest in the death of a 17-year-old boy whose body was found on the bank of the Chippewa River this week.
Chippewa Falls interim police chief John Liddell says officers arrested 30-year old Shane A. Hawkins from Chippewa Falls on Friday night. Liddell says he was booked into the Chippewa County Jail on a charge of hiding a corpse. He says Hawkins was an acquaintance of Jason A. Grau. Grau’s body was found Wednesday near the Highway 124 bridge on Xcel Energy property. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
