Calumet County district attorney sought
CHILTON, Wis. (AP) – Gov. Jim Doyle has started the process to
find a new Calumet County district attorney.
The position opened up this week when 50-year-old Ken Kratz
resigned amid news he tried to spark an affair with a domestic
violence victim.
Kratz acknowledged sending text messages to Stephanie Van Groll
as he prosecuted her ex-boyfriend. Several other women also came
forward with reports of inappropriate sexual advances from Kratz,
who was district attorney for 18 years.
Assistant District Attorney Jeff Froehlich is running the
office. The Post-Crescent that attorneys have until Oct. 18 to
apply.
