The Golden Eagles girls tennis team was collared by Whitewater 7 matches to zero on Friday. The Whippets brought 32 girls to town and they truly were the best team the Golden Eagles have seen so far this season.  A few of their players saw action last year in Madison at the state meet.  However, Coach Taake was extremely pleased with how well the Golden Eagles played.  ”We fought hard for every point and played with determination. The Golden Eagle award was truly earned  by Carissa Huebner who played with 100% all out effort.  She went down to defeat but she should be extremely proud of her focus and concentration. Scores were 6-7 (tiebreaker 6), won 6-4 and lost it in a super tiebreaker 1-10.  The JVs were able take a few matches on the day.  All in all it was a great day for tennis and more importantly everyone had a fun, competitive day,” said Coach Taake. The Golden Eagles travel to Onalaska Luther to take on the Lady Knights on Tuesday, August 30th with game time at 4pm.
