RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks continued to beef up
their offensive line by selecting Wisconsin Badgers guard John
Moffitt with the 75th overall pick of the NFL draft on Friday.
Moffitt was a first-team Associated Press all-America selection
following his senior season at Wisconsin. He made 42 career starts
for the Badgers, spending most of his career at left guard, but
he’s also played center. The Seahawks have used three high draft
choices on offensive linemen since Coach Pete Carroll arrived in
2010.
Moffitt will join Gabe Carimi and J.J. Watt among other Badgers
playing in the NFL.
Carimi, who’s expected to play right tackle in the pros, was
picked 29th by the Chicago Bears Thursday night. The Houston Texans
selected defensive end J.J. Watt with the 11th pick.
