The girls finished their regular season tonight, playing Royall at home in a make-up game.  We came out on top, 4-1, splitting with Royall this season.
The girls started out on the right foot, scoring 2 runs in the 1st inning. Kyra Saylor reached on a single and Braedynn Jones drove her in with a double.  Gabby Wilhorn reached on an error, allowing Jones to score.  We added 2 more runs in the 3rd inning and behind solid pitching and defense, we held Royall to just one run to win the game.
Taylor Anderson picked up her 2nd varsity win, going 4 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 run and had 1 strike out with no walks.  Mekenzie Mootz came on in relief and threw 3 solid innings, giving up just 1 hit, 0 runs, 3 Ks and 0 walks.  Offensively, we had 4 hits.  One each by Saylor, Jones, Valerie Williams and MacKenzie Beranek.
We finished the conference season 8-6 behind Bangor (10-4), Cashton (9-5), New Lisbon (8-5).  Next up is WIAA tournament at home on Tuesday, May 21 against Brookwood with a 5 pm start!
Please congratulate the girls on their win and wish them well on Tuesday.  It would be great to see a huge flock of Cardinal fans in the stands!
