The Mauston girls tennis team hosted a triangular with Columbus and Wisconsin Dells on a picture perfect Thursday with play beginning at 10 a.m. and finishing up close to 5 p.m. with MHS’s Emily Erickson losing her match 6-7 6-7. The score is indicative of how hard both girls played. However, Mauston defeated the Dells 4 matches to 3. The victories came from Mary Jane Nate 6-1 6-4, Carissa Huebner 6-2 6-3, Alyssa Meija-Crowe 6-1 6-2, and third doubles Morgan Ellsworth and Rita Meister defeated a tough Dells team 6-4 6-2. All six JV players defeated the Chiefs in their matches. Mauston dropped their second match to Columbus 2-5. The two victories came from Mary Jane Nate 6-love 6-1 and Alyssa Meija-Crowe 6-love 6-love. The Mauston JV team continues to impress as they defeated Columbus 4-2. Monday the girls travel to Reedsburg to take on the Beavers and Tuesday the girls play at home against Black River Falls.
