The Golden Eagles girls’ tennis team traveled to Black River Falls yesterday and played some of their best tennis of the season, but fell to the Tigers four matches to three. “We are peaking at the right time as we are heading into sub-sectional play in one week,” said Coach Laura Taake. Winning again in a super tie breaker, was #2 singles Mary Jane Nate (6-3, 2-6, and tie breaker score 10-8).  At #3 singles, Carissa Huebner continued her winning streak with an impressive victory (6-2, 6-2), and at #4 singles, Alyssa Meija-Crowe also got a win (6-1, 6-2). The Golden Eagles needed a victory at #3 doubles, but for the first time all year, the mighty Eagle succumbed to the illusive Tiger. Ashlee Nelson and Allison Bauer won their first set closely, 7-5, lost their second set 3-6, and lost in the super tie breaker 8-10. The Eagles travel to Wisconsin Rapids to take on the girls from Assumption Tuesday afternoon.
