The Mauston boys’ and girls’ cross country teams are going to state! Fresh off their conference title performances last weekend, the Golden Eagles’ cross country runners competed at the Division 2 Sectionals Saturday in Black River Falls. Both teams finished second in the standings to send them to the State Meet in Wisconsin Rapids next weekend. The girls’ team finished with five runners in the top 20, and were led by junior Taylor Miller who won the race. The boys’ team finished with four runners in the top 15, and were led by senior Joel Heesch who finished ninth. The State Meet will be held this Saturday at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
