Mauston celebrates Homecoming with a victory over A-F: 47-21
The Mauston Golden Eagles’ varsity football team got their first win of the season with a 47-21 victory over Adams-Friendship as they celebrated Homecoming this week. Mauston led 14-0 at the half with rushing touchdowns from Teague Fenwick and JD Lierman. The defense got a big stop right before halftime to keep the Green Devils at zero. Both offenses took over in the second-half as Lierman picked up two more touchdowns on the ground for Mauston, along with CJ Arcuri and Cameron Dahlgren. Adams-Friendship scored three time on the ground all on short-yardage plays near the goal line. The Golden Eagles put the game away on a fake punt late in the fourth quarter with Dahlgren completeing a pass to Ross Thompson for a 52-yard touchdown. The defense then ended the game with an interception. Mauston improves to 1-2 in the South Central Conference, while the Green Devils remain winless on the season. The Golden Eagles will be on the road at Wisconsin Dells next Friday night to take on the Chiefs who are the other winless team in the conference.
