The Golden Eagles boys’ soccer team was in action again last week as they picked up a win and a loss. Mauston opened the week last Monday with a comfortable win over River Valley, 3-0.  Adam Ryan, Josh McCaffery and Mark Curran netted for the Eagles, with Curran scoring his first ever varsity goal. Later in the week, a road trip to Reedsburg would pit the boys against one of the better D1 teams in the state. It was a good test for the boys, but unfortunately, after playing an incredible first half, the Eagles were not able to stay with the Beavers’ deep squad. Reedsburg was fully in control on their way to a 4-1 victory. Josh McCaffery netted Mauston’s only goal with an assist from Tanner Hill. The Eagles are in action this week at home on Tuesday and Friday, hosting Montello/Westfield and Viroqua, with an away trip to Dodgeville Area High School on Saturday morning.
