The Holmen Vikings came to town Monday afternoon to take on the mighty Golden Eagles and the Eagle went down to defeat, four matches to three.  The three wins were at #2 singles with Mary Jane Nate (6-love, 6-love), Carissa Huebner at #3 singles (6-3, 6-3), and Alyssa Crowe at #4 singles (6-1, 6-love).  #2 doubles, Jenna Reed and Veronica Saylor, went down to defeat 4-6, 4-6, but they played very tough and battled it out for almost two hours. #3 doubles, Allison Bauer and Ashlee Nelson, also went down to defeat (2-6, 6-2, 4-6) after more than 2 hours of play. The JV battled well but also went down to defeat.  “All in all it was a great night of tennis almost under the lights”, said Coach Laura Taake. Thursday afternoon the ladies travel back up to Black River Falls for a duel with the Blackhawks.
