The Adams-Friendship girls’ basketball team extended their winning streak to 18 games with their win over Mauston last night, 64-30. The Green Devils finished undefeated in the South Central to take home the conference title once again this season. Adams-Friendship had three players finish in double figures with Emma Roenneburg leading all scorers with 26 points. Mauston was led by Andrea Thomas who had 10 points and was recognized after the game for being voted WisSports Player of the Week for her performance last week against River Valley when she scored a career high 40 points.

State Wrestling

In the preliminaries at the individual state wrestling tournament in Madison last night, Mauston’s Chris Ruf was defeated by Logan Bernhardt of Waupaca by a 7-3 decision, while Spencer Davies won his match over Austin Connor of Amery with a 7-1 decision. Also advancing from last night was Clay Lieber and Dylan Bauer of Nekoosa, Max Obois of Wisconsin Dells, and Bryce Bennot of Wautoma; while Nekoosa’s Tristin Holden was defeated in his match.

Wrestlers from the South Central and Scenic Bluffs Conferences had a tough night in the division three preliminaries. Daniel Nelson, Austin McCartney, Jay Kaenel, Tanner Akers and Brandon Peters of Westfield, Brandon Schmitz of Cashton, Max Sebranek of Hillsboro, and Calvin Marriott of Brookwood were all defeated last night.
