Scenic Bluffs champion Bangor has reached the semi-finals in the D-7 high school football playoffs after a convincing 54-21 win over Pepin-Alma Friday in Bangor in a rematch of last year’s D-7 State title game pairing. Bangor got a 78-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game from Luke Reader and Bangor was off and running. The Cardinals ran for 328 yards in the win with Hunter Ellenburg, Reader and Drew Johnson all scoring two touchdowns each for Bangor who is now 12-0 this season and the owners of a 26-game win streak going back to last season. Bangor will face 9-3 Edgar in next week’s semi-final round at a yet to be determined time and site. Edgar beat Loyal 33-7 on Friday. Elsewhere in D-7, Hilbert-Stockbridge stays unbeaten with a 20-10 win over Cambria-Friesland and they’ll meet 10-2 Shullsburg next weekend after their win over Highland 22-7.
