In South Central Conference boys’ basketball action last night, Wautoma picked up their first win of the season as they defeated Mauston, 63-49. The Golden Eagles had a 10 point lead late in the second quarter before the Hornets went on a 31-4 run. Mauston was able to start the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run, but that is as close as they would get as they failed to get their first win of the year. The Hornets were led by Jack Eagan who led all scorers with 26 points. Jared Lois also added 18 for Wautoma. Tarren Hall led the way for Mauston with 16 points, and Theron Wilkinson had a season high 10 points off the bench. Elsewhere in the conference, Adams-Friendship and Nekoosa remained undefeated in conference play. The Green Devils beat Wisconsin Dells, 56-52, and Nekoosa topped Westfield, 74-65.

In Scenic Bluffs boys’ basketball action from last night; Brookwood beat Wonewoc-Center, 68-50, Bangor topped Royall, 78-56, Hillsboro beat Necedah, 66-42, and New Lisbon topped Cashton, 58-52.

In non-conference action, Tomah held on to beat Reedsburg, 49-46.

In girls’ non-conference basketball action from last night; Kickapoo topped New Lisbon, 44-38, Luther beat Bangor, 49-38, Baraboo beat Wisconsin Dells, 37-31, Tomah beat Mauston 42-39, and Reedsburg topped Oconomowoc, 55-47.
