Stormy weather made for an odd night of high school football Friday with some games completed and some not so fortunate. Mauston was trailing 13-6 in the second period against Fennimore when play was suspended and after much discussion, the latest plan has Fennimore returning to Mauston on Labor Day Monday at 11 AM to finish the game.

Adams-Friendship allowed over 500 yards in a 42-12 loss to Poynette last night as the Green Devils now sit at 1-1 overall.

Wisconsin Dells is also 1-1 for the young season after a 41-7 loss to Lake Mills who gained nearly 500 yards in total offense. Dells QB Peyton Rohling threw for 230 yards in the loss.

Other SCC schools played last night with Westfield winning their first game 14-0 over Montello-Princeton-Green Lake with Wautoma now 1-1 after a 30-12 loss to Fond Du Lac St Mary Springs. Nekoosa trails River Valley 12-6 in the fourth quarter and that game will be completed today at 5 PM in Spring Green.

New Lisbon is off to a 2-0 start with another tight home field win last night 22-19 over Wild Rose. The Rockets were down 13-0 after one period but took the lead on a Marshall Toelle 5-yard scoring run midway through the third period. Wild Rose took the lead back and a hook and ladder play covering 30 yards on fourth down in the final period but New Lisbon scored the game-winning TD in the final two minutes on a Zach Martin to Jaret Smith three-yard pass play. Toelle ran for over 100 yards for the Rockets.

Hillsboro is also 2-0 after trouncing Kickapoo-La Farge 40-16 last night at Kickapoo High School

Royall was shut out at Alma-Center-Lincoln 20-0 with Royall now 0-2. The win snaps a 27-game losing skid, which was the state’s longest, for A-C-L.

Wonewoc-Center loses a wild one 49-30 at Weston Friday with the Wolves falling to 0-2 on the season while Brookwood is 0-2 after a 34-0 loss to Riverdale.

Necedah at Cochrane-Fountain-City has been postponed to today as was Cashton at Onalaska Luther as was Bangor at Blair-Taylor.

Reedsburg has topped 30 points twice in two games after recording a 34-7 win over Madison Edgewood Friday afternoon. Dylan Peterson ran for 161 yards and two touchdowns and Austin Schyvinck ran for two scores and passed for another with Reedsburg gaining 376 yards rushing in getting to 2-0 overall.

Baraboo has yet to score in two games this year with the Thunderbirds losing 28-0 to Monroe last night after a 33-0 loss to Milton in week one.

Tomah and Black River Falls are completing their game in Tomah today after a suspension due to weather last night.
