Vanderhoof, Deloras Mae (Onsager), age 93, of Mauston
Delores Vanderhoof , age 93, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon, Wisconsin.
Delores was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on June 30, 1921, to Otto and Ada (Webster) Onsager.
On August 22,1940, Delores married Bernard (Speck) Vanderhoof in Waukon,Iowa. Bernard preceded her in death on October 20, 2002.
Delores was a full time wife and mother and also worked for Schultz Brothers Dime Store, Orpha’s Dress Shop, and the City of Mauston counting election votes. Delores was a member of Mauston United Methodist Church since 1951. She volunteered for church activities and various community programs.
Delores enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family, traveling and playing bridge. Her travels took her throughout the continental United States, Canada, and to the Bahamas. She had a gift for making people feel special.
She is survived by her children: William (Betty) Vanderhoof, Waterford, WI, Donna (John) Kudlas, Barnes, WI, Bernard (Betty) Vanderhoof, Mauston, WI, Mary (Larry) Bielke, Portage, WI, and Linda Thayer, Stevens Point, WI, and Sister: Bonnie (Howard) Miller, Mauston, WI. She is further survived by 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren and many dearly loved nieces, and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Speck, her sister Anita Ray, her baby sister Shirley Onsager, her son-in-law Jeff Thayer, in-laws, nephews, and a niece.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 4, 2014, at 11:30 am at the United Methodist Church, 420 Suszycki Drive, Mauston, WI with Pastor Wendell Williams officiating.
Interment will be in the Mauston Cemetery, Mauston, WI.
Friends may call after 10 am on Monday at the church until the time of the service.
Crandall Funeral Home in Mauston, Wisconsin will be assisting the family.
