Waukesha standoff ends
WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) – A 32-year-old man is under arrest after a four-hour standoff ended peacefully in Waukesha. Police say the suspect surrendered just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. The standoff happened just west of the Waukesha County sheriff’s office and courthouse. It began after a 25-year-old woman escaped a home with a gunshot wound and called police. During the 911 call, the woman said her boyfriend may be armed. Tactical teams and a negotiator were sent to the home after 10 a.m. They were able to get the suspect to surrender without incident. Authorities are searching the home for that apparent weapon. WTMJ-TV (http://bit.ly/ODIEH1 ) reports the suspect was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital with a hand injury. The woman has an injury to her neck.
