Walker to address business executives
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – Gov. Scott Walker is scheduled to discuss Wisconsin’s economy at a meeting of the state chamber of commerce. Wednesday’s meeting hosted by Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce was expected to bring together about 450 business executives from across the state. The speech comes on the second day of a federal government shutdown that was widely expected to hurt the national economy. It also comes the day after enrollment began on the new federal health insurance marketplaces, or exchanges. Walker has fought the federal law, saying it too will hurt the economy by imposing uncertainty on job creators. Walker has also blamed poor job creation numbers in Wisconsin on uncertainty created by his recall election last year. He has predicted better job growth numbers are to come.
