The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeing a record number of freshman enrolling this fall. Nearly 8, 500 first-year students are on campus. That’s up 12%.

U-W Madison Provost Karl Scholz says that besides interest from students who navigated through Covid-19 protocols, the University’s reputation and standing was a factor in the record numbers.

26% of the freshman class come from within Wisconsin-the most in 20 years.
