Storms knock down trees
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) – The light of day has provided a better
assessment of damage in western Wisconsin Thursday where strong
storms knocked down trees and power lines and caused hail damage.
Much of the damage is in Trempealeau (TREMP’-eh-loh) County.
Crews blocked off roads into the community of Blair where numerous
power lines and trees were down. WEAU-TV says (http://bit.ly/ItOpmG
) a shelter was set up at the Blair-Taylor High School for anyone
needing it. The school district called off classes Thursday. About
30 homes in the Arcadia trailer park sustained wind and hail
damage.
Heavy rain and flooding in eastern Wisconsin closed Highway 41
in both directions from Highway 26 in Winnebago County to county
Highway N in Fond du Lac County. That’s a stretch of about six
miles.
