State Capitol tree from Medford
MEDFORD, Wis. (AP) – A balsam fir tree from Medford will soon be on its way to the State Capitol. The 37-foot tree was selected from Meyer’s Castle Tree Farm last week and will grace the Capitol rotunda. Gary Meyer says the tree is being loaded Wednesday for shipment. Fourth-graders from Medford Elementary and Stetsonville Elementary schools have been invited to sing at the tree lighting ceremony in Madison Nov. 30. WSAW-TV (http://tinyurl.com/bnve3p2 ) reports the Meyer farm also provided the White House Christmas tree in 1998.
