LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) – As the new school year approaches, some Wisconsin school districts are finishing work on adding new levels of security. The La Crosse School District is spending the waning days of summer installing the last parts of new security system that includes a card access control system, surveillance cameras and a video intercom system. La Crosse schools haven’t had any major security problems recently. But, for grounds manager Jason Showen that’s the point behind security efforts – to put preventive measures in place. WKBT-TV (http://bit.ly/13W72pg ) says Onalaska High School is also finishing construction on a new entrance that will bring visitors into a vestibule and then the office, instead of into the hallway.
