WEST ALLIS, Wis. (AP) – Another public hearing on Republican
Gov. Scott Walker’s state budget proposal will take place on
Monday.
The Joint Committee on Finance started in Stevens Point last
week with the public hearings and lawmakers are holding four in all
around the state. Another is planned for Neenah on Wednesday.
WTMJ-TV reports that several unions had planned events including
an afternoon protest outside the hearing at State Fair Park in a
Milwaukee suburb.
Following the public hearings the committee will return to
Madison where it will begin work on making changes to Walker’s
budget before sending it on to the Senate and Assembly.
