MILWAUKEE (AP) – A West Allis man is charged with injuring a Capitol police officer and another man by stabbing them in the neck. Twenty-five-year-old Jason M. Jones was charged Monday with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Capitol police Officer Greg Friberg (FREE’-berg) and his partner responded to a call Wednesday of someone creating problems in a state building in Milwaukee. The criminal complaint says Friberg touched Jones’s arm and Jones began yelling, and then stabbed Friberg twice. Both stab wounds punctured Friberg’s neck to the spine. Friberg was in stable condition the following day. Prosecutors say an investigator later recognized Jones as the suspect who attacked another man in a parking lot in March. Online court records did not list a defense attorney for Jones early Monday afternoon.
