Occupy campers offered shelter
MADISON, Wis. (AP) – A coalition of faith groups is offering shelter to Occupy Madison campers. Hope Bennett from Shelter From the Storm Ministries says about 20 people are expected to spend the night at Transformation Church as overnight temperatures drop well below zero. WKOW-TV says a small contingent of campers from last year’s Occupy movement is staying in tents at Token Creek Park. The city of Madison evicted the encampment from a spot near the state Capitol last year. The Occupy movement that first gained attention in 2011 was a demonstration against social and economic inequality.
