MILWAUKEE (AP) – An upcoming exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum will feature crashed cars. It’s the work of German artist Dirk Skreber, who is best known for his depictions of crashed cars. His sculptures are often of automobiles wrapped around poles, which are created in a safety testing facility. One is already on view outside the museum. The exhibit, called “Currents 36: Dirk Skreber,” will also include several of his large-scale paintings and the American museum debut of his video work called “Turgidity.” The film depicts a car crashing in slow motion, with shifts in light and matter. The exhibit officially opens Thursday and runs through March 2.
