Manitowoc woman gets 6 years for crash
MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) – A Manitowoc woman has been sentenced to six years in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed three people last year. The judge also sentenced 44-year-old Becky Holly to 15 years of probation on Thursday. Holly pleaded no contest to charges for the October 2011 crash that killed Lawrence Gerroll, his wife Lou Ann and their daughter, Joan. Holly and her son were injured. Becky Holly entered the courtroom for her sentencing using a walker. Prosecutors called for a 20-year prison sentence. The defense maintained prison was unnecessary, saying Holly no longer drinks nor drives, and needs to rehabilitate. WLUK-TV reports Holly tearfully apologized to the Gerrolls’ family and friends. Prosecutors say Holly was drunk when her minivan veered off the road, into a yard where the Gerrolls were standing.
