Man wanted for making meth arrested after manhunt
MERRILL, Wis. (AP) – A man who sheriff’s officials believe is connected to a widespread methamphetamine operation has been captured in Milwaukee. Lincoln County sheriff’s authorities say 37-year-old Christopher Meindel, of Merrill, has been on the run since May when he removed his ankle monitor and fled. Deputies issued a statewide alert for Meindel who they said was armed and had threatened police. Daily Herald Media (http://wdhne.ws/19zOlQu ) says Meindel was arrested at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Milwaukee Thursday. Officers say Meindel had several edged weapons, two airsoft guns and methamphetamine in his possession. He’s facing a long list of charges in Lincoln County, including manufacturing methamphetamine. Court records do not list a new attorney for Meindel’s after his lawyer was withdrawn from the case last September.
