MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – A Milwaukee man testifying for the state at his sister’s murder and conspiracy trial says it was her idea to kill her husband.  Truck driver James Zell Smith testified Wednesday in Memphis. The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/UpwQpA ) reported Smith told the jury he loves his sister, Patricia Matting, but is tired of lying about the case. He said Matting wanted out of her 30-year marriage to Fredrick Matting, saying he was abusive.  The victim’s body was found beaten, stabbed and shot in the street near his Cordova home on Nov. 2, 2010.  If Patricia Matting is convicted, she could be sent to prison for life.   Smith faces similar charges in the killing, but is not currently on trial.
