Man committed in scissors attack asks for release
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) – A man committed to a mental health institute after his grandfather was fatally stabbed with a scissors in Stevens Point is petitioning a judge for his release. It has been 25 years since 76-year-old Elton Favell was killed in the kitchen of the mobile home he shared with his wife. His grandson, Steven Feck, has been held at the Winnebago Mental Health Institute after he was found to be mentally ill at the time of the stabbing. The now 50-year-old Feck is trying to convince a judge Friday that he is no longer a threat and should be released from Winnebago. Stevens Point Journal Media (http://spjour.nl/1pidFhu ) says Feck last petitioned Portage County Circuit Judge John Finn for his release in June. Finn will again hear Feck’s request.
