Harassment claim tossed
MILWAUKEE (AP) – A Milwaukee County court commissioner has dismissed a sexual harassment claim against a former state official. A petition for a temporary restraining order against Manuel Perez was also rejected Tuesday. Perez was the secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development in 2011. He resigned after less than five months on the job. A woman who volunteers at the nonprofit Esperanza Unida leveled the claim against Perez, who is general manager of the job training agency. He has vehemently denied the allegations. The Journal Sentinel says Irene Correa will ask for a review of the ruling. Correa also has a mental health clinic in the same Milwaukee building where the agency has its offices.
