Green Bay officer in arrest tape had 14 complaints
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – A media analysis finds that the Green Bay police officer involved in a controversial arrest in April has received 14 citizen complaints since he joined the department 12 years ago. A Press-Gazette report (http://gbpg.net/1og1ySc ) says the complaints against Officer Derek Wicklund include five allegations of excessive force. However, internal investigations found no evidence to substantiate any of the complaints. A video posted on YouTube this spring showed Wicklund shoving a man against a parked car, throwing him to the ground and punching him. He’s been moved to administrative duty during an investigation. Previous complaints include allegations that he slammed a person into a car hard enough to injure his ribs, and that he kicked a woman during an arrest. From 2002 to 2008, he also received 22 commendations.
