JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) – A longtime Milton police officer has been found dead in an apparent suicide.  The body of 43-year-old police Lt. John Conger was found Sunday on a walking path in Janesville.   The Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation says an autopsy found Conger died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.  Conger had been with the Milton Police Department since May 1992.  WISC-TV (http://bit.ly/1b5q1ld) reports Conger was involved in anti-bullying efforts in the Milton School District.   In a statement, Milton Police Chief Dan Layber called Conger a “dedicated officer who was committed to the Milton community.”  Janesville police and the DCI are investigating with help from the Wisconsin State Crime Lab.
