STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) – A Stevens Point man is flying his American flag upside down after becoming fed up with politicians in Washington. Walter Blanchard wants others to do the same if they’re feeling the same frustration over the federal government shutdown and congressional bickering. There are no state or local laws against flying the flag upside down.  But, the Department of Veterans Affairs says an inverted U.S. flag is a sign of distress.  Blanchard that’s exactly why he’s doing it.   Some local residents don’t like it. Carl Schulfer tells WAOW-TV ( ) he thinks it’s a disgrace to the country.
