March 01, 2013(FHTNC)–Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jeffrey W. Dolan, son of Renee M. and Joseph G. Dolan of Sparta, Wis., is assigned to the Los
Angeles-class submarine, USS Cheyenne (SSN 773), who recently arrived in Subic Bay, Philippines as part of its Western Pacific deployment. With a crew of 150 Sailors, Cheyenne will be conducting various military exercises for training. Cheyenne is one of the most capable submarines in the Navy. Its enhanced capabilities include advanced sonar system and a state of the art engine room. Its sophisticated design and highly trained crew enable Cheyenne to operate globally, ready for any mission. Commissioned September 1996, USS Cheyenne is the third ship of the Navy to be named for Cheyenne, Wyoming. USS Cheyenne is homeported Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Dolan is a 2007 graduate of Sparta High School of Sparta, Wis. and joined the Navy in April 2010.
