A downtown Mauston gas station is seeking restitution of over 212-dollars for three worthless checks which includes 90-dollars in service fees from a Hillsboro man. Police said 31-year old James Goetz wrote three checks to Boberg’s Gas and Go that were returned for non-sufficient funds. In addition to paying restitution, Goetz’ fines totaled $606.60.
A Tomah man was cited for issuing a worthless check. Police said 31-year old Keith Lanphear wrote a check to Boberg’s Gas and Go for almost 55-dollars. The check was returned for non-sufficient funds. Boberg’s has added a 30-dollar service fee. Total restitution is almost 85-dollars. Lanphear was fined $202.20.
