The paved parking lots were filled with vehicles from Wisconsin and surrounding states and the bleachers were filled with parents and grandparents during the boys 16 and under competition in the opening weekend of tournament play at the new Woodside Sports complex east of Mauston.  Teams from Mauston, Reedsburg, Hillsboro, Mount Horeb, Eau Claire, Janesville, and other cities competed on four fully turfed, lighted fields along 21st Avenue in the Town of Lemonwier.   “There were 31-teams competing with 57-games played,” said Director of Baseball and Softball Operations, Mickey Fadness, “we were booked solid this weekend.”  A longtime dream of developer Damon Zumwalt, owner of the Woodside Ranch, has come to fruition even though the Juneau County Board voted against guaranteeing a $5-million dollar loan last year.
