The Wonewoc-Union Center School District was recently awarded several grants: a 21st Century Learning Center School grant and Trifecta Foundation Grant. District Administrator Dr. Steve Lozeau said that first grant is worth $80,000 per year for five years, totaling $400,000 to provide before and after school programs to benefit students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.  He said the administrative team is working on implementing a plan. The second grant is for $3000 and it is to improve reading to students in grades Kindergarten through 4th grade. Lozeau said that as a result of these and other grants that the district will have over $95,000 of new grant funds next year to provide services and resources to children. He wanted to thank Dr. Sharon Ennis, who is the district’s curriculum director, who has been leading many of the grant submissions and to all other involved staff members for their hard work to achieve such a result.
