A new study of the Wisconsin economy suggests that the focus on statewide employment trends may be misplaced due to regional difference. The Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance, also known as WISTAX has released its findings on how different regions in Wisconsin compare with each other. Juneau and Adams Counties were in the 10-county central Wisconsin region. This region has not been able to increase its share of state economic activity. It lost more construction jobs than any other region in the state. However, the education-health sector outperformed the state. In Adams County the employment rate increased by 21 percent. In addition, Adams County had a high rate of per capita income growth. Other counties included in the central Wisconsin region are: Wood, Marathon, Shawano, Waupaca, Portage, Waushara, Marquette and Green Lake.
