On Saturday, August 16th, a 24-year-old Wisconsin Dells man, Luis Maravilla had to be tazered by authorities before being taken into custody at a gathering in the City of Mauston. Mauston Police, Wisconsin State Patrol and Juneau County Sheriff’s Department were called to a physical altercation in the 1000 block of East State Street around 10:30pm. When law enforcement arrived on scene, Maravilla, who appeared to be intoxicated, was hard to understand, and was attempting to stick his head into the driver’s side of a cab when officers approached him. Maravilla lurched into the window towards the driver after being directed to step back. After being advised he was under arrest, Maravilla struggled with two officers as he was being handcuffed. After failure to comply, he was then tazed. Maravilla continued to resist as he was being placed into a squad car. According to police reports, Maravilla caused an incident at the Juneau County Jail also. Maravilla has been tentatively charged with two counts of resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
