Wautoma couple injured in two vehicle accident
A Wautoma couple was injured in a two-vehicle accident over the weekend. Adams County Sheriff Sam Wollin reports that around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of a head on collision with two vehicles on State Highway 73 and 5th Avenue in the Town of Leola. The driver of one vehicle, 58-year-old Beverly Warner, along with her husband, 69-year-old Francis Warner of Wautoma, were injured and transported to St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle, 35-year-old Shawn Podoll of Hancock, fled the scene prior to officers arriving. A search was conducted using aircraft and the K9 unit. Podoll was later located, arrested and transported to the Adams County Jail with charges pending. Highway 73 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
