Whether you live in the City or rural areas, authorities are asking Juneau County parents to walk their children to and from the bus stop and make sure their child gets on and off the bus safely.  “Thursday morning about 7am an 8-year old Mauston girl was in the 700-block of LaCrosse Street when a vehicle stopped and a male individual asked if she needed a ride.  The girl then ran to the bus stop and when she looked back, she saw the silver car turning  around.  A description of the male individual could not be provided.  “Both the Sheriff’s Office and Mauston Police Department will have additional vehicles on patrol, “says Mauston Police Chief Mark Messer and Sheriff Brent Oleson.  However, they urge parents to walk their children to and from the bus stop and make sure their child gets on and off the bus safely.  If anyone has any knowledge regarding this incident, they are asked to contact the Mauston PD at 847-6363 or the Juneau County Sheriff’s Office at 847-5649.
